Solid takes your privacy seriously. We do not sell, lease, or exchange your personal data to third parties in ways other than described in this Privacy Policy.

This privacy policy describes how Solidarity Labs Cooperative, LCA. (“Solid “we,” “us,” “our”) collects and uses the personal information you provide on our website located at solid.coop and/or mobile apps and related services (collectively, the "Services"). It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.

Information Collection and Use

The Service collects information you provide in order to provide you with a personalized account. When registering on our website, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, email address, password, or credit card information. You may, however, visit our website anonymously.

Uses of Information

Solid collects the aforementioned personally identifiable information in order to provide you with a service for finding vendors in the solidarity economy, or allowing you as a vendor to manage your information. Solid also uses information collected through its service in the following ways:

Information Security

We store all user information in secure databases protected via a variety of industry-standard access controls. Bcrypt-hashed passwords, firewalls, and other measures are in place that help us protect your data. This data is accessed only for the purposes specified in this Privacy Statement. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100%, however. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our website, please contact us.

Removing Information

To remove your personally identifiable information from our system, submit your account for deactivation by contacting us via the contact form at the bottom of the front page. Your personal information will be removed within 72 hours. If you wish to remove your billing information but keep your account, please again contact us via the contact form.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Customer Service

Upon issuing a customer support request to Solid, we may use your information and email address to contact you regarding your inquiry.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Personally Identifiable Information

Your personally identifiable information may be shared with our third-party service providers in furtherance of providing you access to and maintaining the Service (for example, for customer support processing, error notifications, or billing processing). The information provided to our third-party service providers is limited to only that necessary to complete their function, and is designed to provide you the best possible experience using the Solid Service.

We will submit your billing information to our credit card processing agent for approval when you update your billing information or subscribe for services. This company does not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any purpose other than billing.

Choice/Opt-Out

If you no longer wish to receive promotional emails from us, you may opt out of receiving them by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in each communication you receive.

Log Files

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files.
